Board Of Directors
Daniella M. Cippitelli
Daniella is the founder/president of Magic Happens Foundation. She created the foundation after her own experience with cancer left her with the knowing that her active lifestyle helped her recovery and treatment. After creating Magic Happens Foundation, Daniella found herself giving talks to help inspire and encourage people to create an empowered life for themselves. She found her own experience with cancer and life itself helped people identify with her as a source of encouragement in finding their own empowerment to face life head on.
She received the International Chiropractors Association Arnold Schwarzeneggar Legacy Award for her foundation work and is on a mission to bring hope and empowerment to others.
Daniella Cippitelli is also the owner of The Breadth Within Art Gallery in Roslyn, NY. The gallery represents her own paintings and fine art photography as well as the work of other artists.
In the creative setting of the gallery you can also find various wellness and personal empowerment classes and workshops as well as a regularly scheduled yoga class. These classes encompass the true scope of the ‘breadth’ within the gallery. The gallery is the home to the first yoga therapy classes for the foundation. Daniella felt the need to take the class away from the ‘medical’ environment of hospitals and outpatient centers and bring patients to a place where they could feel inspired and empowered.
Lisa began practicing yoga 2009, when she was laid off from her 20 year career as a Marketing Manager. Her yoga practice was sporadic at best, but with time on her hands, she began to practice yoga every day and immediately saw how yoga can transform your body, mind and spirit. Within weeks her body felt stronger and more flexible, the aches and pains went away, and the back pain started to subside. As her yoga journey continued, she began to pay attention to her overall health, eating healthier, staying active on and off the mat, and spending more time enjoying family and friends. Inner peace was working its way in.
At the end of 2009, Lisa was diagnosed with breast cancer. She embraced this new journey, just like she embraced her yoga journey. Her breathing exercises helped her remain calm as she sat through appointments with doctors, surgeons, and oncologists. She remembered what it was like to be on her mat, blissful. Most of all she practiced yoga throughout her chemo therapy and radiation treatments. Lisa would go to the studio, bandana on her head and move however she could through a yoga class. She practiced breath, knowing this was temporary and I would get through it. So many times an asana would challenge her and she would embrace it, and when it was over - Savasana. Cancer was like an asana practice, it would challenge her and she would embrace it, and when it was over, return to inner peace.
She knew that teaching yoga was in her destiny and enrolled in the 200 HR Yoga Teacher Training at The Yoga Darshana Center in West Babylon, NY. Her journey continued when she received her 500 HR Yoga Alliance Certification at Mindful Turtle in Setauket, NY, studying under Beryl Bender Birch founder of The Hard and Soft Institute. Lisa's teaching style focuses on self-expression and flow. Her classes focus on instilling feelings of empowerment and fostering the belief that yoga can enhance each student's life. Lisa invites students to come to class with an open mind and heart, experience the journey of yoga, and find peace on and off the mat.
